As a current student in Communication Disorders, it is difficult for me to know how to best assess patients progress as this is something that is beyond the bachelor's program here at BYU. My current assessment philosophy, however, is similar to that of any common core teacher. It is important for me to give quick feedback to my patients and students. When they are struggling with a certain aspect of speech, I want to find the problem and address it quickly. I believe it is important not only for me to see what is going wrong, but also for the patient to recognize it in themself for the most effective growth. I will come up with a way to show patients how they have progressed and where they are still lacking in order to give them jurresdiction over their own personal growth.
